Café Pera is one of the most famous cake
stores near Ewha University. It is especially famous for Strawberry Tart, a
combination of fresh strawberry, rich cream cheese, and crispy tart sheet. The
taste was great: with the richness of cream cheese which is not too heavy, very
fresh strawberry fully decorated on the top of the tart. Even the tart sheet
was great. It was not too hard, but soft and crunchy. However, the tart was a
bit overpriced. It was a very small tart and not enough for two people.
The café was crowded when we got there,
and most people were eating strawberry tart and some coffee. The customers in
the café were mostly couples, and the atmosphere was romantic and warm.

Sulbing
One-strawberry
Sulbing ice flake 12000원
Sulbing is the most famous ice flake
store in Korea. We tried ‘One-Strawberry Sulbing’ which is a brand new menu
option which looks like one strawberry on pure white ice flakes. However, there
are two floors of strawberry puree under the milky soft ice flakes. The taste
of the dessert was a pleasant harmony between milk ice and strawberry puree.
However, the bread on the bottom was all soaked when we reached the bottom and
it was not good texture. Moreover, the dish was overpriced with just one dish
of strawberry and ice flakes.
The atmosphere was very friendly, with orange
light inside which made a very warm atmosphere even though there was a lot of
windows. It was good place to have a chat with people.

Man’s
Waffle

Man’s Waffle is a good but not popular
waffle place. They sell various kinds of waffle such as Chocolate waffle, Berry
Berry waffle, Banana waffle and so on. We tried their seasonal menu, Strawberry
waffle. When the waffle came out, it made me want to take a picture: the strawberry
waffle looked great. With a great decoration, it looked like a nice strawberry
cake. In addition, taste was great as much as the look. Crispy waffle, creamy
whipping cream, and fresh strawberry. However, the portion was too small and
the price was too much.
The store was very small as there was
only 2 tables inside of the store and nobody was there. The interior was cute
and delicate with all the decorations, such as flower vases made out of vodka
bottles.

Homilbat
Strawberry ice flake (8000won)
Homilbat is located near Sinchon train
station and is popular for its strawberry ice flake and strawberry cake. The dessert
consists of a lot of strawberries on an ice flake, but you have to know that fresh
strawberries and frozen strawberries are mixed there. And the ice is made of
milk which makes it taste good. It really harmonizes with rice glutinous cakes
and sweet red beans. It is delicious but it is served in small portions.
This store is located in roadway so the
first time you go there you might think you would be bothered by noise of
roads. However, when you come into the store, your thoughts will be changed
because there is no traffic noise inside. The main material of the store is
wood, which will make you feel comfortable and cozy.

Amasvin
Strawberry yogurt bubble tea (3500won)
Amasvin
is one of the bubble tea stores near Ewha, and many of Ewha students patronize
the store. There are lots of bubble teas in Amasvin, and the strawberry yogurt
bubble tea is one of the best menu choices. This has a very deep taste so it
can be a good meal, and lots of strawberries are in the tea. The texture of
bubble really harmonizes with strawberry yogurt. The only problem with this
strawberry yogurt bubble tea is that there is too much ice in each cup.
The atmosphere of the store makes people
feel cozy. We think the soft light and simple tables and chairs helps with this.
